Cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, such as single row cylindrical roller bearing with cage, and full complement type (without cage) of cylindrical roller bearings. Bearings with cage are designed to accommodate heavy loads and high speed operations, whereas the full complement type of bearings are mostly suitable where there is very heavy loads at moderate speed operations.
Single Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings
The rings of single row cylindrical roller bearings are flanged on one of the rings that guide the rollers during operation. These are sometimes called the “open” flanges. End surfaces of rollers are particularly treated to have better lubrication, lower friction, and lower operating temperature, when they roll by the “open” flanges.
