Thrust spherical roller bearings are most suitable for applications of radial loads and simultaneously acting axial loads. The loads of the bearings are transmitted from raceway to another at a certain angle to the bearing axis. Self-aligning capability is the most important feature and characteristic of thrust spherical roller bearings, the bearings are insensitive to misalignment or deflection of shaft relatively to the bearing center. Thrust spherical roller bearings are designed with large numbers of asymmetrical or barrel rollers, and specially designed raceway with an optimized conformity, so that they are mostly used to support very heavy axial loads under considerably high speed operations.
