Design and operating principle
Due to the precise design of the rings and the uniform distribution of the rollers, NTE bearings ensure uninterrupted operation even in the most intensive duty cycles. Their flexible configuration, with or without a cage, can be precisely adapted to your equipment.
Cage materials include:
- Steel – maximum strength and wear resistance, withstands high loads and impacts.
- Brass – has a lower coefficient of friction, suitable for high-speed and precision bearings.
- Polyamide – lightweight, resistant to corrosion and high temperatures.
Rollers move between the raceways of the rings, transmitting loads through linear contact to achieve increased load capacity and rigidity. Flanges provide axial shaft guidance.
The design of bearings with two flanges on one ring and no flanges on the other allows for axial displacement within certain limits, compensating for shaft length changes due to thermal expansion. Such designs are recommended for use as floating bearings. If there is a flange on the second ring, such a bearing secures the shaft in one axial direction and can temporarily accommodate small axial loads.
For shaft location in both axial directions and the absorption of limited axial loads, bearings with a loose flange ring are used. Special designs are available with roller ends tangential to the flanges of specially profiled rings, ensuring good lubrication of the contact surface. As a result, such bearings can withstand axial loads (about 20% of the radial load, and even more for short periods; the maximum permissible axial load should be specified, as it depends significantly on the bearing design and manufacturing technology). This design is commonly used in axlebox bearings.

- Operating temperature range: up to +150°C (standard models), up to +200°C for diameters >120 mm.
