Roller spherical bearings
NTE double-row radial spherical roller bearings are designed to accommodate heavy radial loads as well as axial loads not exceeding 25% of the unused permissible radial load capacity. They are self-aligning and can operate normally with shaft misalignment relative to the housing of up to 1°, and some designs up to 2.5°. Bearings with integral seals permit misalignment of up to 0.5°.

Design and operating principle
This type of bearing can withstand high radial and axial loads simultaneously due to the special design of the spherical rollers, allowing contact with the raceways along a line rather than at a point, unlike ball bearings.
The bearing design consists of the following components:
- Rollers: rolling elements of a special profile made of high-quality chromium steel ensure a large contact area with the raceways, enhancing load capacity.
- Rings: outer and inner – can be with cylindrical and tapered bores for easy mounting on the shaft.
- Cages: pressed steel cages are used for smaller sizes, while brass cages are applied in larger bearings.
- Lubrication grooves and holes (W33): ensure easy and uniform lubrication.
Most bearings are supplied in an open design, which simplifies lubrication.
Technical specifications
NTE spherical roller bearings are available with different radial internal clearances: C3 for operation under heavy loads and elevated temperatures, and C4 for extremely severe conditions involving vibration and high thermal loads:
- Maximum rotational speed – up to 17,000 rpm.
- Operating temperature range – standard spherical roller bearings are thermally stabilized for operation at temperatures up to 150 °C.
- Basic dynamic load rating – up to 17,300 kN. This is almost three times higher than that of ball bearings.
